Tell us a bit about your writing/illustration process…

I rely a lot on my sketchbook for documenting ideas about ways of capturing ideas, techniques, ideas; usually go back to them for things to take and expand on in more finished work. A lot of times I draw without agenda while looking at reference images, research, watching some particularly visually arresting films and TV shows (usually historical). When it comes to making a cohesive piece of storytelling there’s a lot of procrastinating and erming and ahhing before a particular thought makes me stop and examine more closely; that usually starts the ball rolling and then I try to work uninterrupted for as long as possible!
