Halloween is creeping up and while everyone's getting prepped (and excited) for the festivities, we thought we'd catch up with Ella Bailey and see what she's doing at this time of year. Voila! FE: Will you be carving a pumpkin this year, Ella? EB: Yes, I try to do one every year! Although my pumpkins tend to be a little basic, like the ones in ‘No Such Thing’. FE: What would be your fancy dress costume of choice? EB: A ghost! FE: What are you reading at the moment? EB: Lots of picture books, and the Moomin comic strips FE: What are your top three tips for students about to graduate from college and embark on a career in illustration? EB: I don’t think I could say anything that students don't already know, but here are the things I have personally found to be most important: - Run a website or a blog (ideally both). - Keep on experimenting with your art. - Be organised (to-do lists are great)! FE: Which author would you most like to collaborate with? EB: Lemony Snicket, I loved his books growing up. FE: What are you working on next? EB: I’m working on more children’s books! FE: Fang-blimmin-tastic! :
