Post on Creative Review about Nobrow at Pick Me Up

We were very fortunate that Creative Review were so kind as to take some photos of our exhibition space, we were so busy tending to the stall itself we hadn’t gotten round to it yet. But anyway here they are. The idea was to transport our studio to pick me up and at the same time be in keeping with the Topsy Turvy theme. If you click through you will see the interview and in spite of looking like a bit of a muppet, I still managed to flick through a number of our newest publications with out too much gaucheness.

Nobrow at ‘Pick Me Up’ Somerset House

Somerset House has kindly asked Nobrow to take part in Pick Me Up, the first contemporary graphic art fair in the UK. The fair will bring together the most exciting graphic artists working today, giving you the opportunity to buy limited edition, affordable graphic art, illustration and design.

We will be there in full force as of Friday the 23rd of April selling prints, books, comics and even pillows! So don’t miss your chance to swing by and see the fair, there will also be a great line up of other artists and studios, including Rob Ryan and Luke Best as well as studios Peepshow, Evening Tweed and gallery Concrete Hermit. You can buy tickets here, it’s well worth the fiver…

– Nobrow 2: The Jungle Exhibition at Jaguar Shoes

Second launches are tough, there’s the obvious need to outdo the first and to take on massive and unrealistic targets. Well this was no exception, wall painting, screen printed wallpaper, hand cut foliage, billboard prints and plastic tigers, the whole kit and caboodle. The turn out was thankfully very good and we all had great fun. The show then stayed up for another two months and Dreambags even had their christmas party there, so we got a lot out of the whole experience and it was well worth the effort.

So thank you to everyone who came and supported us, and continue to do so by attending our events and buying our books. Below are some photos of the space before and during the exhibition.

– Nobrow 1: Gods and Monsters Exhibition at Jaguarshoes

Nobrow came virtually out of nowhere, so our first show had to be spectacular. We were kindly given the space at Shoreditch stalwart DreambagsJaguarshoes to doll up for a 6 week exhibition and we jumped at the opportunity. Aside from the unbelievable stress of putting the show up there was that underlying, lingering fear that no one would come…

Thankfully that was far from being the case, the first show was packed out all night and we sold bucketloads of magazines as well as consuming several palletloads of alcohol amongst the 150 or so people who attended the event. It started off with a resounding sense of approval and we were given the confidence to press on.

So thank you to everyone who came and supported us, and continue to do so by attending our events and buying our books. Below are some photos of the space before and during the exhibition.
