Marion Billet

Marion Billet was born in Lyon, France, where she grew up and studied, doing Children’s Book Illustration at the Emile Cohl School. She now lives in Paris. Her bold and whimsical style, featuring lots of animals and bright colours have proved popular around the world and Marion has had over 120 children’s books published in 25 different countries, including Whizzy Wheels: London Bus for Campbell Books and Littleland: All Day Long for Nosy Crow and exhibited her work in Tokyo during the Summer of 2013.

What inspires your work?

Travelling! Each country inspires me, the colours of the landscape in Tanzania, Japanese kawaii objects, fabrics and of course the food!

Tell us a bit about your process…

I draw on a graphic palette (intuos Wacom) on Photoshop. I do everything directly on photoshop, right from the rough stages to the final colour version.
